What is a heat pump calculator?
A heat pump calculator is a very handy tool that takes all the guesswork out of choosing a heat pump and narrows down your choices.
The heat pump calculator asks you a few easy questions and uses that information to give you recommendations on heat pump options. The size of your room and insulation type can help determine the products most suited. By using these two factors, the heat pump calculator will calculate the capacity needed to successfully heat your space and be able to give you your options.
How to use our heat pump calculator?
Our online calculator is very simple to use and asks you only a few questions to help work out the type of capacity you will need.
What is the space you want to heat?
Firstly decide on the space you want to get some recommendations for.
There are three options to start with:
- Heat a single room
- Heat my whole home
- or, Heat multiple rooms
Next, the calculator will ask you about measurements or give you recommendations on what to do next.
Tip: Remember you need to exclude areas that don’t need heating, for example, bathrooms, toilets, hallways, internal garage, wardrobes, storage, etc.
The next question covers the insulation that you currently have in your home.
You can select from one of four insulation options.
All the options have a brief description to help guide you through the most applicable to your home or room.
If at any point you get stuck or unsure feel free to give one of our friendly team a call.
Heat pump recommendations
After you have answered these two questions, you select the ‘Get Recommendations’ button.
The heat pump calculator will then give you the recommended kW capacity for your room or space.
If you want to save this information for a later date you can select email this selection and the results can be conveniently emailed to you.
You can click through the various ranges available at the bottom of the page to learn more about each. For example, there are high wall heat pumps, ceiling-mounted, central heating, floor consoles, and speciality models like the Mitsubishi Black Diamond Series.
